The district administration in Indore has begun the process of granting land ownership rights to the residents of 29 villages that were recently included within the municipal corporation limits. Following the expansion of the municipal corporation in 2014 to include these villages, residents or their heirs/transferees who occupy residential land without a lease can now apply for land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav issued directives on this matter during a recent meeting in Indore. Currently, landowners in these villages are facing challenges in selling their houses or securing loans for house construction due to the absence of registration, leases, or other necessary documents. To address this issue, eligible individuals can apply for land holding rights as per the circular issued by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. Successful applicants will be granted a 30-year lease, allowing them to easily obtain loans and manage property transactions. Application camps will be set up at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia on September 29, 2024, to receive applications. Once verified, eligible beneficiaries will be granted leases under the land holding rights scheme. SDM Rau Vinod Rathore emphasized that online applications for leases will be accepted at the camps, and applicants should bring essential documents such as bills for electricity and water supply, official correspondence related to the plot, the census address from 2011, property tax receipts, and voter list information.
